The Market for Chinese Cell Phones

February 26th, 2010

In the past few years there have been an explosion in both Europe as well as in America for Chinese cell phones. There are two big reasons for this explosion, the first being that Chinese mobile phones are cheap which means that they can be disposed off when you are sick and tired of using them. The second reason is that like many of the latest phones Chinese cell phones continue to be updated with the latest technology.

There was a time when Chinese phones were said to be cheap replacements of their superior counter parts manufactured in Japan or Hungary. Today, however, they are still cheap but they are certainly not replacements because they have become as good as the real deal. Their cheap manufacturing processes and labor have enabled China to capture much of the European and American cell phone market.

If you look at stats from five years ago and compare them with today it is not hard to see that one in every three persons are using a Chinese cell phone as a second phone as compared to one in ten people from five years ago. The economy of both Europe and America also have a big part to play in the popularity of Chinese cell phones as people look for cheaper stuff during economic uncertainty.

According to experts Chinese phones are going to grow in popularity and in three or four years from now will become a big threat to established phone manufacturers. This will and should drive other manufacturers to come out with cheaper phones with the latest features something which will motivate people to purchase their phones as opposed to Chinese phones.

This should be able to spark some healthy competition between Chinese manufactures and ones in Europe. The result of this is of course going to be well designed and innovative new technology for everyone.

The Benefits of Chinese Cell Phones

October 7th, 2009

The first and most attractive benefit of Chinese cell phones is that they are lower priced than their North American counterparts. Many cell phones produced by Chinese cell phone manufacturers are absolutely loaded with features.

The Chinese cell phone manufacturers have made an art out of making look-alikes. They make phones that resemble name brand phones on the outside, but are most likely packed with many more features. Some features may have less quality, such as a lower resolution on the built-in camera, but with the many added features and the lower cost, they are sure to develop quite a following.

One of the Chinese clone phones that is gaining a lot of attention is the HIphone. As you may be able to guess from the name, it is a spin-off of Apple’s iPhone. It actually contains features that the iPhone doesn’t have. The shake and tilt features, allow you to shake the phone, forward or backward, to scroll through your media. Tilting the phone on it’s side tells the phone you want to go wide screen, and it responds astoundingly.

The Chinese manufacturers are leading the way into new technology that their North American rivals have not yet tapped into. This is the use of two SIMs in a single phone. The SIM card is the little card you place into your phone in order to make use of a certain service provider’s service. If you want to switch your service provider, you generally have to buy a new SIM.

The dual SIM phones allow you to have two services on one phone. This allows you instead of carrying one phone for business and one for personal, to have both services on the same phone. Many people have wondered if this will allow actually answering two calls at one time on one phone.

That is another technological first that the Chinese manufacturers are bringing to fruition. That is the inclusion of two CPU’s in the same dual SIM phone. This in fact allows you to answer two calls at one time. With a single CPU the calls come in on what is known as a first come first serve basis.
