Buying Valentine’s Day Gifts for Guys

February 10th, 2012

Girls, this one is for you.

Do you find it hard to look for Valentine’s Day gifts for your crush, boyfriend, partner, or husband? Do you often feel that the gifts you give aren’t as appreciated as you’d expected?

Buying Valentine’s Day gifts for guys is really quite difficult, because unlike Valentine’s Day gifts for girls, it is often difficult to consolidate the masculinity of a man with the romance of the occasion. But girls, don’t fret, because we’ll go through some tips to help you pick the right gifts for your man this Valentine’s Day that appeal both to his masculinity and his sense of romance.

Creativity is the key!

Creativity is the key when buying Valentine’s Day gifts for guys, because most of the things that guys often like to receive are nowhere near romantic — gadgets, equipment for their favorite sports, gear or equipment for their favorite hobbies, and the like. These are so different from the kind of gifts that girls are given, and like to receive, on Valentine’s Day — flowers, sweets, cosmetic products, perfume, sexy lingerie, jewelry, or clothes.

So one of things that girls often do when they pick Valentine’s Day gifts for their loved one is to pick up something that they think will be romantic too, without considering their masculinity. In this way, some of them might try buying flowers, sweets, or perfume for their beloved male other half. While, it is true that there are guys who can be very appreciative of these types of gifts, there are those who won’t help but feel let down.

To avoid this, girls should always remember to think about what their man usually likes to receive. If your man loves gadgets, why not give him a new cellphone — if it is within your means — but before giving it to him on Valentine’s Day, fill up the phone’s gallery of photos of yourself (if you’re daring and you trust your man, you might even include something leaning toward sexy) or you both as a couple. You could also set the wallpaper or theme to show a picture of you or you both as a couple on the home screen or as the screen saver. And as an added surprise, set up a future event in his calendar with instructions to a surprise you’ve planned and set up!

Another idea along this line would work if your man is into sports. If you’re man plays soccer, you could get him a customized soccer jersey, and instead of having his name printed on the back, have it say something like “I love [your name]” or “I ♥ [your name].” Then when your man goes to play soccer and agrees to wear the jersey you gave him, surprise him again by wearing a jersey with his name on it instead while you cheer loudly for him from the stands.

But if you really want to lean toward a romantic gift for your man and your relationship has reached a level where you have started having encounters in bed or would like to make that move on Valentine’s Day, a creative idea is to give him sexy lingerie! Not sexy lingerie for guys (because that could make him feel embarrassed) but give him a gift of sexy lingerie for you to wear as a sign that he can expect something if he’s good on Valentine’s Day.

So remember to be creative when giving Valentine’s Day gifts to men. Put yourself in his shoes and think about what he will be ecstatic to receive. And remember also that your gift doesn’t have to be expensive, there are a myriad of ways to keep within your means this Valentine’s Day when buying gifts, like buying them from online wholesalers. In the end, the age-old saying still stands true: “It’s not the gift, but the thought, that counts.”

A New Year, A New Life

January 10th, 2012

Whenever a new year comes along, a lot of people like to change off old, bad habits for new, better ones. A new year basically marks a turning point of sorts, from which people resolve to clean up their mess and start over again, hence the term “New Year’s resolution.” Although its true origins have not been pinpointed, making promises at the start of a new year has existed for since Babylonian times, where Babylonians would make promises to their gods at the start of each year to return things that they had borrowed and repay their debts.

More modern New Year’s resolutions often center around improving the personality of an individual, i.e., aspiring to reach a higher state of well-being by exercising more and eating better, improving the state of one’s finances by saving money and spending less, or doing better in a one’s chosen career by being more diligent at work or finding a better job. Others try to fix problems they have perceived in themselves, like becoming more organized, being less irritable, managing anger, and the like. While others resolve to fulfill childhood dreams during particular years, like taking a trip around the world that has been saved for since a young age.

Increasingly over the past few decades, however, New Year’s resolutions have begun to include a more aesthetic and material tone: slimming down so that sexier clothes can fit on them, vowing to purchase a specific piece of designer clothing to keep up with the trend or impress somebody, or improve makeup skills to look better. But resolutions such as these often require a fair amount of money, and money is often times hard to come by these days.

Gladly enough, online wholesale stores are there to help us save so that we can keep our New Year’s resolutions, whatever they may be. Whether you’re choosing to buy wholesale online because you’re trying to curb your spending or you’re curbing your spending so that you can afford a designer piece outfit, when it comes to saving some valuable coin it is often wise to choose to purchase less expensive products online rather than continue to patronize more commercial brands. Let’s face it, many commercial brands base their prices not on the cost of production, but on the weight that their brand carries.

Most people are glad to find that things like exercise equipment and inexpensive makeup can be bought online, and for a greatly discounted price. But that’s not where it stops. Electronics, sports supplies, computer hardware, and a wide array of apparel are all available at sale prices many people often think are too good to be true.

So how are you going to fulfill your New Year’s resolutions this year? Why don’t you give online wholesale stores a try. They just might be the thing that can help you achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself at the start of the year. If they don’t, one thing will at least be true: you won’t have to spend as much money trying!
